Glass Polyester Products are manufactured from random glass fibers impregnated
with polyester resin to form homogeneous shapes (sheet, rod, profiles).
These have a combination of properties including:
- Good Heat Resistance
- Dimensional Stability
- Toughness
Glass Polyester Products are well suited for many applications
where the properties of the high pressure laminates are not required.
ROD & PROFILES
Undirectional glass fibers bonded by polyester resin, pultruded
rod and profiles are economical insulating shapes. Rod is supplied
in 155°C and 200°C grades while profiles are supplied from flame
retardant resin.
Application
GRADES
GPO-1 - Economy grade GPO-1 is manufactured with a glass fiber
mat base reinforced with a general purpose polyester resin binder.
Good electrical and mechanical properties.
GPO-2 - Similar to GPO-1 but utilizing a flame retardant resin.
Rated UL-94 V-0. Usually a custom product subject to special quotes.
GPO-3 - Glass fiber mat base reinforced with a flame retardant,
arc and track resistant polyester resin. Suitable for high voltage/high
humidity applications.
